  14. INTRODUCTION

  16. In most countries of the world local time changes two times a year: from
  17. local standard time, also known as Wintertime, to local daylight saving time
  18. (DST), also known as Summertime, and back.
  19.  
  20. SetDST helps you to keep up with the DST switches and will perform any
  21. necessary action automatically.
  22. It may be run in the background if you wish, so if you never switch your
  23. computer off it will make sure that you always have the right system
  24. time--hopefully, though ;-)

  26. In addition to that SetDST creates and manages up to 4 environment variables
  27. which enables other applications to make use of the time zone names and GMT
  28. offsets stored within.

  31. EINFÜHRUNG

  33. In den meisten Ländern dieser Erde wird zweimal im Jahr die lokale
  34. Ortszeit umgestellt: von Winterzeit auf Sommerzeit und umgekehrt.
  35.  
  36. SetDST hilft dabei, mit den Zeitumstellungen Schritt zu halten und führt
  37. alle notwendigen Änderungen automatisch durch.
  38. Es kann auf Wunsch im Hintergrund laufen, so daß auch dann immer die
  39. korrekte Zeit eingestellt ist, wenn der Computer dauernd in Betrieb ist -
  40. hoffentlich jedenfalls ;-)

  42. Darüber hinaus erzeugt und verwaltet SetDST bis zu 4 Umgebungsvariablen,
  43. was es anderen Anwendungsprogrammen ermöglicht, die darin gespeicherten
  44. Zeitzonen-Namen und Zeitdifferenzen von GMT zu nutzen.
